Senior Real Estate Underwriter, London. Up to £55,000 plus excellent benefits,
I am looking for a pro-active, commercially astute new and existing business underwriter for my clients Real Estate (Property Owners) Team.

You will play a key role in delivering the team trading results through effective large case underwriting and technical support to improve profitability.

Responsibilities:
Delivering planned financial results through effective management of large cases, actively applying a range of trading techniques.
Demonstrating a contribution to loss ratio control by effectively implementing branch underwriting controls.
Building trading relationships with Brokers through large case liaison to maximise financial results.
Building a reputation as a trading expert with a panel of intermediaries and building confidence in the branch ability through interaction with our Underwriting Technical Centre.
Acting as the expert for relevant class/product specialisms, working in conjunction with other Commercial Teams to optimise the profitability and to uplift underwriting capability in these areas.

Experience required:
Strong trading capability; commercial awareness, negotiation skills, ability to build strong broker relationships.
Pragmatic and confident decision maker with good analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
Strong analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planning.
Strong level of technical underwriting expertise in a composite insurance environment (Real Estate).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in decision making on a wide range of technical underwriting scenarios within a Commercial environment.
Excellent risk assessment and risk management skills.
Progress towards Dip CII qualification desirable.
