A fast growing and vibrant Opticians in Leatherhead is looking for an Optical Assistant. You will be supporting the branch manager in maintaining a high standard throughout the team in terms of dispensing and customer service.

Responsibilities:

·Being part of a team inclusive of an Optometrist and driving to different venues ensuring safety at all levels
·Ensuring clinics are prepared with sufficient equipment and paperwork.
·Carrying out and discussing company performance updates based on branch Key Performance Indicator results for the dispensing team when required
·Ensuring that all customers feel comfortable and respected
·Informing customers about the service in a professional manner
·Keeping the patient database up-to-date at all times
·Demonstrating an understanding of best practice concerning use of all equipment
·Actively participate in team meeting concerning action plans; creatively suggest ideas for exceeding performance targets and opportunities for improvement.
·Providing information, maintaining records and carrying out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner and in accordance with current data protection policies.
·Complying with good health and safety practice, all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures

Ideally have expereince in the following but not essential;

·Ideally have Optical experience within domiciliary sector
·Focimetry
·Frame Fitting
·Face and frame measurements
·Prescription analysis
·Dispensing SV, DV, Bifocals, Varifocals, Prism
·Knowledge of GOS Regulations and Voucher Values
·Successful completion of in house training schemes

Must have's

·Clean driving licence and no claims within last 2 years - must be 21 years old + for insurance purposes
·Excellent communication and customer service skills
·Strong team player
·Highly motivated
