Job description
PalmerSport is the leading operator of prestige corporate motorsport events and owns and operates the Bedford Autodrome circuit complex. With the 2026 season being one of our busiest yet, we are looking for additional members to join our track safety team on a casual / part time basis.
Our safety team plays a pivotal role in keeping all of our guests safe during their motorsport activities at Bedford Autodrome. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment for guests, whilst also assisting with the implementation of safety protocols, when things don’t go to plan out on circuit!
Main duties of our Safety Team include:
- Monitoring track activities to ensure our guests are following the circuit guidelines, as discussed with them in their morning briefings
- Inspecting the track and surrounding areas for potential hazards, prior to a track session
- Ensuring guests are informed of any potential hazards on circuit, implementing our flag systems when required.
- Responding promptly to any on-track incidents, including accidents and any mechanical failures
- Keeping our Chief Marshal and Event team informed of any hazards via radio communications
- Assisting in documenting and reporting incidents that occur on track
- Assisting in any safety briefings prior to corporate events
What you need to be a member of our Safety Team:
- A passion for motorsport is essential in order for you to get the most out of the role
- Prior experience in safety, emergency response or motorsport is desirable however not essential
- Due to our location, a full UK driving licence is essential for the role
- Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure
- Ability to work well individually as well as part of a larger team
Whilst full training will be provided for all successful candidates, a basic understanding of motorsport is needed prior to joining us. With PalmerSport events running up to 6 days a week in peak times, willingness to work a flexible shift pattern is a must. Shifts normally run between the hours of 8am – 5pm, however occasional evening sessions may mean a slightly later finish.
