MotorSport Vision (MSV) is Europe’s leading race circuit operator, owning and operating some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including Brands Hatch, one of the world’s most celebrated motorsport circuits, which hosts major national and international events throughout the year.
We are seeking a confident and committed Deputy Catering Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the catering operation at Brands Hatch. Working closely with the Catering Manager, you’ll play a key role in operational delivery, team leadership, cost control, operational analysis and ensuring exceptional standards in food, beverage, and hospitality experiences across this world-class venue. This is a hands-on, customer focused position ideal for someone passionate about food, hospitality and team development.
The Role
The Catering team at Brands Hatch delivers a high‑volume, commercially driven food and front‑of‑house operation across a diverse and vibrant venue. This includes two restaurants, one pit-lane Café, over 40 hospitality suites, and dedicated corporate hospitality floors, servicing a calendar of promoted large‑scale race events, track hire, and private event activity. Success relies on strong planning, agility, and a sharp focus on operational and financial performance.
As Deputy Catering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the smooth day‑to‑day running and profitable delivery of catering services. With primary responsibility for front‑of‑house standards, you will lead the customer journey, ensuring consistently high levels of service, presentation, and brand experience across all outlets. You will support the Catering Manager in delivering creative offers, maximising revenue opportunities, controlling costs, and developing high‑performing teams through effective training and leadership.
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role requiring strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to fluctuating demand. Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evening and weekend working, particularly during major events, where delivering exceptional customer experience at scale is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage staffing levels across all catering and hospitality outlets using RotaCloud ensuring optimal deployment aligned to forecast demand, operational complexity and labour budgets, with a particular focus on major promoted events
- Ensure all front‑of‑house staff are fully trained, compliant and confident, with a clear understanding of service expectations and brand standards
- Support the production and presentation of labour reports, margin analysis and performance recommendations to drive financial control and continuous improvement
- Lead food and beverage product reviews, analysing gross profit margins, weighted margins and sales performance to inform decision‑making and maximise commercial return
- Oversee stock management across restaurants and hospitality areas, controlling ordering processes and minimising wastage to protect margins
- Assisting the Catering Manager and Head chef in monitoring and maintaining food quality, presentation and service standards, ensuring they consistently meet or exceed guest expectations; proactively resolve issues to safeguard customer satisfaction
- Assisting the Catering Manager in overseeing the Coordination of delivery, setup and breakdown of catering equipment and supplies to support efficient event execution
- Manage the operational flow of events, overseeing food service, beverage distribution and guest interaction to ensure smooth, high‑quality delivery at scale
- Support the Circuit Manager and Catering Manager during event‑day operations, including effective liaison with concession partners and the creation and maintenance of advanced Excel‑based event return and performance reporting
- Maintain and continually enhance hospitality standards across suites and corporate areas, delivering a premium, first‑class guest experience
- Maintain accurate compliance and safety documentation, ensuring all legal, food safety and health & safety requirements are fully met
- Contribute to weekly catering meetings, providing clear operational updates, performance insights and improvement opportunities
- Develop and present business cases for product innovation, focusing on enhancing the guest experience, driving efficiency and maintaining food and beverage standards
- Ensure all catering equipment is fully operational, coordinating maintenance and repairs with suppliers to minimise disruption
- Support the Catering Manager and Head Chef in menu development and pricing updates across operational systems to reflect commercial strategy
- Deputise for the Catering Manager as required, providing leadership continuity and operational oversight
We are looking for somebody with:
- An experienced catering or hospitality Deputy Manager, ideally within catering or premium hospitality with a string background in catering retail operations
- Experience within large-scale, high-volume venues
- Advanced Microsoft Office ability, especially Microsoft Excel
- Experience using a digital rota system ie RotaCloud, utilising reporting features to assist in implementing new procedures and policies
- A strong track record of driving growth and performance in catering
- Confident with ownership of food and beverage financial outcomes
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Relevant Food Safety & Hygiene qualification
- Personal Licence / WSET qualification would be desirable
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Team-focused with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends
